ReStory Beginner Repair Guide: First Devices & Profitable Orders
Start with simple music players and phones, log your three key numbers, and only accept orders that clear the profit calculator.
This guide is original EratoGame content and is not affiliated with Mandragora or tinyBuild. ReStory: Chill Electronics Repairs is a cozy simulation about running a repair shop in mid-2000s Tokyo — restoring consoles, phones, music players, and other nostalgic devices.
The three numbers that decide everything
- Repair / labor cost — what the shop charges you to perform the repair.
- Parts price — what the components cost for that device.
- Sale revenue — what the customer pays when the repair is done.
These three numbers structure every order. Log them per device, and you can decide instantly whether an order is worth taking.
Start with simple devices
Music players and cell phones are good early work: low-to-moderate repair complexity and fast turnover. Leave home consoles — higher complexity, more expensive parts — until you have a feel for the shop’s pricing.
Check the math before accepting
- Open the Repair Profit Calculator and enter repair cost, parts price, and sale revenue.
- If profit is positive with a healthy margin, accept and complete the order.
- If the order is loss-making or break-even, negotiate a higher price or skip it.
Plan upgrades around margins
Shop upgrades and new tools change repair cost over time. Re-run the calculator after each upgrade — yesterday’s loss-making order can become today’s bread-and-butter job.
