IRON NEST Range / Angle Tool
Quick range ↔ elevation converter for IRON NEST: enter a range and muzzle velocity to get low/high angles, or enter an angle to get the resulting range.

How to use
- Choose a mode: Range → elevation angle, or Elevation angle → range.
- Enter muzzle velocity for your shell and gravity.
- Read the solution plus flight time.
Formula
R = v²·sin(2θ)/g. Range→angle: θ = 0.5·asin(R·g/v²). Angle→range: R = v²·sin(2θ)/g.
P(at least one) = 1 - (1 - p)^n Examples
Range → angle
1,800 m at 220 m/s: low ≈ 10.7°, high ≈ 79.3° (vacuum model).
Angle → range
45° at 220 m/s gives the maximum vacuum range: 220²/9.81 ≈ 4,934 m.

Questions
Tool FAQ
What is the best angle?
45° maximizes vacuum range. In-game, your shell's velocity and air resistance shift this.
